Highlights & Statistics
By Thelma Munoz-Santos
Welcome to our Mission of Love post status meeting. I know that most of you had to travel a long way, give up some free time and use your own funds to be here.  But this meeting should be worth your while. Indeed, we had all been through so much and already given so much that it is now time to have an emotional and factual encounter regarding what we had done for the people of Marinduque not only as medical and other professionals but as soldiers of Christ. To all of you, welcome and many thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Last February 5-11, 2006 over 111 foreign missioners from US and Canada came to the Mission of Love IV together with 20 local missioners who joined hands and serviced free clinics in 6 towns of Marinduque and surgical procedures performed in the Provincial Hospital. This project is a way for our missioners to give back to our beloved Marinduque jointly with the Town Mayors and the Governor's office coordinated by Macrine Jambalos Katage, Thelma Munoz Santos & Ching Jao Manalo who arrived a week before to have an open dialogue with the two mayors regarding the covered courts services, the queues and the flow of people.

Covered courts of Buenavista, Torrijos, Mogpog, Sta. Cruz, Gasan & Boac were swamped with townfolks registering to get access to the Triage Nurses Station for their medical vitals before they can see the doctores who will evaluate their medical case and prescribe medicinces. The crowd control and registration group headed by Exec. VP, Noly Ricohermoso, facilitated the movements of people from the gueue line to to the end where medicines were dispensed by the Pharmacists.

Snacks and water were provided to the missioners and townfolks by the Town Mayor's office and there were some generous families who sponsored lunches and dinner for the missioners.

Total missioners, medical professional or non-medical increased by 100% over that of 2004.

On the agonizing faces of recipients for medical services our tearful eyes saw their urgent need for medical help. On the other side of the equation are the 61 medical professionals whose untiring, unselfish efforts, endurance and love, who consistently gave their help to the needy patients who are in line for as long as medicines as available. Some had to dip in their own personal monies to provide some help for their next month prescription to be filled or to pay for their follow up visits the the provincial hospital

A total of 50 people from the support group did the running from registration forms (for database entry), to technical computer entry volunteer ensuring captured datas are good for reporting analysis. As the saying goes, Good data is Good info to report. We had recorded the youngest volunteer by the name of Christian Lopez Regan, who is only 12 years old. He got to run and help with the availability of supplies and equipments that were needed by the doctors. Chris has to do a report for his school about his contribution to the mission under the supervision of his parents Paul & Grace Regan.

Ron Netzer who is the President of Chicago Lions club was caught with a burning desire to help that he had to donate his personal $$ to get to more dental anesthetics and medicines when supplies ran out. Ron's heart went further by making sure that Lions, Chicago Chapter, will participate next time in a small or big way.

Philippine Medical Assn of Southern California, Philippine Professionals Assn. of Indiana, Philippine American Foundation for Charities, Inc; Watson Lab,
1st & 2nd Mortgage Co. of New Jersey, & Allied Mortgage Bank were among the top corporate donors.
