| MACUSA's 25th ANNIVERSARY BASH |
| Last July 9th, we honored and presented to the public two Most Outstanding Mothers at the Wyndham Hotel O'Hare. This is a project of the Marinduque Association of Chicago, USA with the intention of showcasing role models for young mothers and mothers-to-be. Here they are in alphabetical order: Mrs. Felicitas M. Javier. She is a wife, mother of 2 and a retired dietician. The fact that Mrs. Javier is the First Lady of Ilocos Norte USA and that she is my province mate did not have anything to do with her selection. The other one is Dr. Elenita Rubio. While she is a practicing physician, she is also a wife and the mother of three boys. Dr. Rubio's last name did not have anything to do with her selection either. In fact, I did not have anything to do with the selection of either one of them. Past presidents were also presented and awarded certificates of achievement. They are Rollie Nepomuceno, Johnny Yu, Bes Sulit, Chito Madla, Bert Pilar, Leonardo Del Mundo, Pete Nepomuceno, Mauro Larracas, Pete Puertollano, Bill Magsino, Ben Magahis, Joey Rejano and Rico Ricohermoso. For the first time, we also awarded certificates of recognition to Senior Grandmothers such as Mrs.Jacinta Sadia, Mrs. Vicenta Velasco, Mrs. Adela Reginio, Mrs. Ester Luz and Mrs. Crisanta Logatoc. We had as special guests some of our former Most Outstanding Mother Awardees and they are Mrs. Herminia Camacho, Mrs. Tita Del Mundo, Dr. Remy Escalona, Mrs. Tess Manuel, Mrs.Cora Soco and Mrs. Fely Vincoy. Mr. Joe Recalde, a MACUSA member choreographed the presentation of awards and Mr. Noel Sadural did the decoration of the stage. MI members from out of town who attended the festivities are MI president, Macrine Katague and her husband Dave, Mr. Steve Sosa, Dr. & Mrs.Hector Sulit and, of course, Dr. Rudy Jao from Indiana who is a member of MACUSA's current Board of Directors.
